Why have an agent?

WHY NOT? Yes, you can always buy your health insurance directly from a customer service line. But, an agent gives you access to expert advice and personal service. With an agent, you have someone that you can develop a relationship with over time who knows you and your circumstances. Having an agent ensures that you can pick up the phone and be known. And... there’s no cost to have an agent.

How do I choose a plan? Will the cheapest plan protect me? Does the most expensive plan offer the best benefits?

Maybe... but there are many things to consider. Here are some questions to ask before you decide on what plan is right for you:

  • Are my doctor(s) considered in-network for a particular plan?

  • What is the plan deductible and what does this mean for me?

  • What is my out-of-pocket maximum and why does it matter?

  • Do I qualify for a subsidy to reduce premium costs?

  • Am I covered if I travel out of state?
